What VentFic keeps
- The name you choose for other fans to see, and your email address.
- Your password, stored only as a one-way scrambled form (a hash). Nobody can read it back, including us.
- If you use Google: the account ID Google gives us, your name and email from Google, and your profile photo link.
- Sign-in records (when you signed in and which browser), so you stay signed in for up to 30 days.
- Your month and year of birth, to keep VentFic to people aged 10 and over and to match you with fans of a similar age.
- The movies you pick to be matched on, and when, so other fans of the same movie can find you. Other fans can see how many people picked a movie.
- Your chats with the fans you match: your messages, and a note of each call (who called, when, and how long it lasted).
What it doesn’t keep
What you type in the search box goes to our server to find films. It isn’t saved until you pick a movie, and search words are removed from our server logs. Voice and video calls go between the two phones, through an encrypted relay when a network needs one, and aren’t recorded.
Where it lives
Accounts are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database and served by Cloudflare.
Cookies
Two essential cookies: one keeps you signed in, one protects sign-in forms from forged requests. No advertising cookies.
Who can use VentFic
VentFic is for people aged 10 and over. Fans are matched only with others of a similar age: 10 to 12, 13 to 17, and adults. If you’re under 18, use VentFic with your parent’s or guardian’s permission.
Deleting your account
Open the You tab in the app and choose Delete account. Your account, sign-in methods, sign-in records, the name other fans see and your places in movie queues are removed straight away. Messages you already sent stay in the other person’s chat.
